Recap of the 2023 Robo Camp

Over the end of summer, we had the exciting privilege of hosting our 2023 robotics camp for rising 7th, 8th, and 9th graders throughout Berkeley! Hosted by the championship Berkeley High Robotics Team, Robocamp consists of a one-week extensive learning experience where students learn foundational robotic principles such as fabricating, coding, and designing their own robots. The campers also engaged in small competitions throughout the week to show off their efforts, sportsmanship, and robots with fellow campers.

The camp sessions were held in person at Berkeley High Robotics Lab with 26 campers, the Berkeley High robotics teacher, and six student instructors from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The student instructors from Berkeley High’s robotics team used their experiences on a world-ranking robotics team to mentor the campers personally, helping them follow their ideas. Campers also had supervised access to Berkeley High’s extensive fabrication equipment, such as 3D printers, laser cutters, and CNC routers.

As the summer sun sets on another successful Robocamp, we're thrilled to share the highlights of our 2023 Robocamp, where young minds got to delve into the exciting world of robotics, mentored by our championship Berkeley High Robotics Team and equipped with cutting-edge technology. Campers got to learn about robotics through our top-ranked Berkeley High Robotics Team and used new technology.
